Getting to know you Meme

Sheri Edwards challenged some of her PLN friends to reply to the Getting to Know You Meme, and like Theresa Allen, I’m game!

11 Random facts about me

  1. I grew up in Silicon Valley, and had summer jobs at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Brandt Electronics, Sun Microsystems, and at my dad’s doctor’s office.
  2. I pretty much have always known what I wanted, and figured out how to make it possible. For example, when I was in fourth grade, I signed myself up for AYSO soccer, and my parents found out about it when AYSO called to ask for payment.
  3. I love sushi; nonfat lattes; great salads; shrimp tacos; Pinkberry original yogurt with coconut flakes, blue berries, and kiwi as toppings; and I can’t refuse cut out cookies that reminds me of Mom’s.
  4. In three months of playing Candy Crush, I’m on Level 421, and I refuse to pay a cent.
  5. My all time favorite movies include, but are not limited to: Secondhand Lions; all three Bourne movies; the remake of The Thomas Crowne Affair; Something’s Gotta Give; Sixteen Candles; The English Patient; and Band of Brothers (the entire series).
  6. The two best dance scenes in movies go to Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder (cracks me up!) and Brandon Frasier in Blast From the Past (I so want to learn to swing dance!).
  7. I learned to snowboard in a day, and was on black diamonds on day two at Northstar.
  8. Twenty years ago, I would go camp in the snow just to wake up to carve fresh powder at Mammoth Mountain, my all-time favorite resort.

  9. I got two tattoos 23 years ago. Originally they were a cross with a rose, but 23 years and 2 kids later, they are more like an arrow and some grapes.
  10. Two things outside of my two children that I find breathtaking: Puccini’s Turandot and Michelangelo’s St Peter’s Pieta.
  11. I don’t apologize for going into cyber hibernation now and then. After all, if my #1 mentor had no problem ditching his friends and the public eye to have some time to recharge; then I’m going to follow that without hesitation.

    Luke 6:12-19

    The Twelve Apostles

12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. 13 When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles: 14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

    Blessings and Woes

17 He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon, 18 who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured, 19 and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.

      • v. 12: need of solitude
      • v. 13: gather closest friends (an inner circle of friends)
      • v. 17-19: went out of His comfort zone, into the public eye, to serve them
